About Us MONaMOUR is an American lifestyle brand that creates a unique intersection in fashion by blending the casual style of Parisian living with a sleek sophistication. Relaxed, but always refined, the collection draws on influences from International travel to metropolitan living. Wide-eyed Ecuadorian native Jhonny Gonzalez, a.k.a. Albert, arrived in the thriving NYC fashion scene in 1991 with a mission. His journey began making deliveries ranging from patterns, samples and fabrics to huge production houses then nestled in the heart of the Garment District. He embraced this opportunity to familiarize himself with manufacturers, fabric distributors, sourcing facilities and designers. Landing his second position wasn’t easy, but he pressed eagerly for an opportunity to learn hands-on cutting and mastering the art. His tenacity and attention to detail prompted a promotion from cutter to quality control supervisor. With 4 years of hard work and determination, House of Zion hired him as their General Manager, responsible for overseeing all aspects of product production. Often referred to as the “Mayor of the Garment Center” by local workers in 2003, Jhonny felt it was time to implement his skills, solid network and all the knowledge he acquired to start his own production facility Jordy 2000. Still thirsty to get hands-on knowledge, he began familiarizing himself with pattern making, grading and marking. He has manufactured for heavy hitters such as Oscar De La Renta, Vera Wang, Zac Posen, Adidas and Opening Ceremony, to mention a few. After 10 years of working one-on-one with established brands and building a rock solid network in the garment center, he took the leap of faith to fulfill his dream and start his own label. In October of 2013 MONaMOUR was established. Jhonny was inspired by the French New Wave movement. “It’s all about the attitude; she’s confident, flirty but still classy,” he says. A brand dedicated first and foremost to the quality of the garment, by creating a perfect combination of comfort tailoring. This collection, known for color, print and exquisite layer details, includes ready-to-wear pieces for women.
